Effective from the launch date of the Kroo £5 & £5 Referral Scheme (INSERT DATE). These terms should be read alongside any other terms and conditions published for the scheme.
The below is not an exhaustive list and should be read in conjunction with our official Terms and Conditions.
1. Who can refer
1.1. Only customers who hold an active unrestricted Kroo personal current account are eligible to refer.
1.2. You must have been selected by Kroo to participate. Not all customers will have access to the referral feature at the same time. If you do not see the referral option in the Kroo app, you have not been included in the current phase.
1.3. You must have made at least one card transaction on your Kroo account within the 30 days before generating your referral link.
1.4. Kroo may refuse or remove your access to the scheme at any time, including if we reasonably suspect misuse or if operational conditions require us to pause the scheme.
2. Who can be referred
2.1. The person you refer ("your friend") must not already hold a Kroo account at the time they use your referral link.
2.2. Your friend must be eligible to open a Kroo personal current account. This means they must be a UK resident, aged 18 or over, and able to pass Kroo's standard identity and eligibility checks.
2.3. Your friend must use the same email address they submitted through your referral link when they download the Kroo app and register their account. If they use a different email, the referral will not be tracked and no reward will be paid.
3. Qualifying for the reward
3.1. After opening an account, your friend must complete a qualifying card transaction for the reward to be paid.
3.2. A qualifying card transaction is a transaction made using a Kroo debit card.
4. Reward limits
4.1. Each successful referral earns £5 for you and £5 for your friend.
4.2. You can earn referral rewards for a maximum of 10 successful referrals. The maximum total reward you can earn as a referrer is £50.
4.3. Once you have reached 10 successful referrals, you may continue to share your link, but no further rewards will be paid to you.
4.4. Your friend will receive their £5 reward only once, regardless of how many referral links they may have received from different people. Only the first valid referral link used correctly will be honoured.
5. Excluded conduct and abuse
5.1. The following are not permitted and may result in rewards being withheld, clawed back, or your access to the scheme being revoked:
- Self-referral: creating or attempting to create a second Kroo account to refer yourself.
- Fraudulent or fictitious referrals: referring people who do not exist, using fabricated identities, or colluding with others to generate false referrals.
- Bulk or commercial distribution: posting your referral link on public websites, social media advertising, paid promotions, or any channel intended to generate mass sign-ups rather than personal peer-to-peer sharing.
- Manipulation of qualifying transactions: making transactions solely to trigger the reward with no genuine intent to use the account, including low-value or circular transactions designed to game the qualification criteria.
5.2. Kroo may investigate any referral activity that appears unusual, and may withhold or recover rewards while an investigation is ongoing.
5.3. If Kroo determines that referral abuse has occurred, we may take further action on your account in line with our general terms and conditions, including account closure.
6. Scheme availability and changes
6.1. The referral scheme is available for a limited time only. Kroo may pause, modify, or close the scheme at any time without prior notice.
6.2. If the scheme is paused or closed:
- Referrals where both the referrer and the friend have already completed all qualifying steps will still be honoured.
- Referrals that are partially completed (e.g. your friend has signed up but not yet made a qualifying transaction) will not be eligible for a reward unless Kroo specifies otherwise at the time of closure.
6.3. Kroo may change the reward amount, the number of permitted referrals, or the qualifying criteria for future referrals. Any changes will apply to referrals made after the change takes effect and will not affect rewards already earned.
7. Payment of rewards
7.1. Rewards will be credited directly to your Kroo current account once all qualifying conditions have been confirmed.
7.2. Kroo aims to credit rewards promptly, but processing may take up to 14 calendar days after the qualifying transaction is confirmed.
7.3. If your Kroo account is closed, frozen, or restricted at the time the reward is due to be paid, Kroo may withhold the reward.
7.4. Rewards are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash, credit, or any other benefit.
8. Privacy and data
8.1. Kroo will not share your personal or account information with the person you refer, or vice versa.
8.2. If your friend's application is declined or does not complete, Kroo will not inform you of the reason. The referral will simply not appear as successful in your referral tracker.
8.3. By participating in the scheme, you agree that Kroo may process your referral activity data for the purposes of administering the scheme, preventing fraud, and improving our services, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Liability
9.1. Kroo is not responsible for any technical issues, network failures, or device problems that prevent you or your friend from completing the referral journey.
9.2. Kroo is not liable for any tax obligations that may arise from receiving referral rewards. You are responsible for understanding and meeting any personal tax obligations.
